About Counselling Psychologist Dr Madeleine Roantree; Relationship & Neurofeedback Specialist in Lon

Dr Madeleine Roantree is a HCPC registered Counselling Psychologist in London specialising in neurodiverse-informed therapy, developmental trauma, neurofeedback, and relationship psychology. She holds advanced qualifications in psychology (BSc, MSc, Professional Doctorate) and began her career in mental health as an Occupational Therapist, working in psychiatry.

She has extensive experience working in complex clinical settings and private practice.

With over 20 years of clinical experience, including 4 years in the NHS working at a complex mental health service, she provides evidence-based psychological therapy for individuals and couples experiencing anxiety, depression, PTSD, stress, and relationship difficulties. She has run trauma informed groups for people with severe anxiety and depression.

Dr Roantree’s work focuses on developmental trauma and attachment patterns, helping clients understand how early experiences influence emotional regulation, behaviour, and interpersonal relationships. Her trauma- and neurodiverse-informed approach ensures therapy is safe, compassionate, and tailored to each client’s needs.

She integrates a range of established therapeutic models, including:

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
  • Dynamic Interpersonal Therapy (DIT)
  • Compassion Focus Therapy (CFT)
  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
  • Relational Life Therapy (RLT)

In addition to psychotherapy, Dr Roantree offers computer-assisted neurofeedback therapy in London, a non-invasive, clinically supported intervention that trains the brain to improve regulation, resilience, and cognitive functioning. Neurofeedback is effective for:

  • Developmental trauma and PTSD
  • Anxiety and chronic stress
  • Attention and focus difficulties
  • Emotional dysregulation
  • Sleep problems

She runs a 4 month mental health makeover programme for those who want to integrate talking therapy with ILF neurofeedback.

She regularly contributes to national and international media on relationships and mental health, including appearances on TalkTV, Channel 4 and BBC radio.
