What Is ILF Neurofeedback?

What Is ILF Neurofeedback?

What Is ILF Neurofeedback?

Infra-Low Frequency (ILF) neurofeedback is a gentle, non-invasive technology that measures your brainwave activity in real time and feeds that information back to your brain, via visual, auditory and tactile signals helping it identify and correct unhelpful patterns on its own. There are several forms of neurofeedback. Ours is ILF training, which operates at the very lowest end of the brainwave spectrum — the frequencies that govern the brain's most fundamental regulatory systems. By working at this foundational level, ILF neurofeedback addresses the underlying architecture of how your brain manages itself, rather than targeting individual symptoms in isolation. You may know it as 'brain training'. The technology is set up to give your brain feedback on the frequencies it's running, and if you are experiencing for example mood swings, irritability, poor sleep, sugar cravings, migraines, anger outbursts or suffer with rumination, these are all signs of a dysregulated brain. It's not firing in optimised frequencies. This technology helps train the brain to regain it's equilibrium so it can help you function better.

Who Is It For?

What Is ILF Neurofeedback?

Anyone who wants to improve and change their experience of life. ILF neurofeedback is particularly well suited to individuals who:

  • Experience chronic stress, burnout, have an overactive or difficult-to-quiet mind
  • Struggle with sleep quality despite good sleep habits
  • Live with anxiety, low mood, or emotional reactivity that feels disproportionate to their circumstances
  • Are managing the cognitive and emotional demands of high-responsibility roles
  • Want to increase decision-making capacity and sharpen mental clarity and focus
  • Are looking for a sophisticated, non-pharmaceutical approach to mental wellbeing
  • Are navigating ADHD, PTSD, or the cognitive shifts associated with menopause or ageing

How Does It Work?

What Is The Commitment?

What Is The Commitment?

Every client begins with a thorough consultation to understand their history, goals, and neurological profile. Sensors are placed on your head with a paste. The setting is calm, comfortable, and typically last around 30 to 45 minutes. There is no discomfort, no downside, and no recovery time — many clients come during a lunch break or between meetings. You are expected to state any changes in your body during the session, otherwise you simply sit and enjoy watching a screen with animations and patterns.

Results vary by individual, but meaningful change is typically observed within a course of 20-30 sessions. Many clients choose to continue beyond their initial goals, using neurofeedback as an ongoing tool for peak performance and mental maintenance — much as they might use executive coaching, personal training, or nutritional optimisation.

While Neurofeedback can have immediate effects, for lasting changes you need to have several appointments. Similar to going to the gym, you need to go regularly before you can see sustained changes. The standard approach is twice a week for the first 20 sessions. It is possible to do once a week, but it is good to start off with 2-3 times a week. You can also do intensives (ie daily), but this would require an assessment, as it's not suitable for all. A single session is £165, and packages of 10 sessions are priced at £1500.

The first few sessions will be dedicated to find your Optimal Reward Frequency (ORF). You will be required to keep track of symptoms, so we check progress and ORF, as this is the only way we can communicate with your brain!
